October Heat Scorches Pune, Mercury Rises to 35.2°C
Pune, 8th October 2026: The October heat has intensified across the city, with Pune recording a maximum temperature of 35.2°C on Wednesday. The mercury climbed to 35.8°C at Lohegaon, with residents experiencing intense heat during the afternoon.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 21.5°C. The rising temperatures have left Pune residents uncomfortable, with the weather feeling more like summer despite it being October. Isolated areas witnessed partly cloudy conditions in the afternoon.
The Pune weather observatory has forecast a further rise in maximum temperatures over the next two days.
Across Maharashtra, Amravati recorded the state’s highest maximum temperature at 39°C, with the mercury inching towards the 40°C mark. Yavatmal recorded 38.2°C, Akola 37.9°C, Wardha 37.6°C and Nagpur 36.4°C.
In Marathwada, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar recorded 36.5°C, while Dharashiv recorded 34.2°C. Parts of Akola, Buldhana and Nagpur experienced partly cloudy conditions or light rain.
The heat also persisted across the Konkan and Mumbai regions, with Santacruz recording 35.4°C and Ratnagiri 37.5°C.
The state is currently experiencing contrasting weather conditions, with hot and sunny afternoons and relatively cooler nights in some areas.
