Fake Railway Board Letter on Productivity Linked Bonus Circulated on Social Media

New Delhi, 8th October 2026: The Railway Board has clarified that a letter circulating on social media and messaging platforms regarding payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for the financial year 2025-26 is fake and fabricated and has not been issued by the Railway Board.

The fake communication claims that eligible non-gazetted railway employees have been sanctioned a Productivity Linked Bonus equivalent to 78 days’ wages, with a payment amount of ₹41,149. The Railway Board has stated that the contents of the circulated letter are unauthorised and should not be acted upon.

According to the clarification, the fabricated letter bears RBE No. 101/2026 dated October 6, 2026 and was circulated with a forged signature. The Railway Board said the communication had been widely shared through social media and various messaging platforms.

All Zonal Railways, Production Units and other concerned railway offices have been advised to disregard the fake letter in its entirety and ensure that no action is taken or payment is made on the basis of the communication.

The Railway Board has also advised railway officers and staff to verify the authenticity of communications relating to PLB payments through the official website of the Ministry of Railways/Railway Board before taking any action.

It has further clarified that no action should be taken and no payment should be made on the basis of communications circulated through social media, messaging platforms or other unauthorised sources.

The clarification was issued by the Railway Board on October 7, 2026, following the circulation of the purported PLB communication.
