Pimpri Chinchwad, 12th October 2026: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) launched a signature campaign at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk in Pimpri on Monday, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The campaign was organised by the MNS’s Pimpri Chinchwad unit following instructions from party chief Raj Thackeray. Party workers, office-bearers and local residents participated in the drive, expressing support for the demand through their signatures.

The party accused the Election Commission of India of arbitrary functioning and demanded Kumar’s immediate resignation.

The campaign was led by MNS Pimpri Chinchwad city president Sachin Chikhale. Shiv Sena city chief Chetan Pawar and several other office-bearers and party workers were also present.

Chikhale said the campaign had received an encouraging response from residents and warned that the agitation would be intensified in the coming days in accordance with Thackeray’s directives.
