Ghorpadi, 13th October 2026: A teacher at EuroKids kindergarten on B T Kawade Road in Ghorpadi allegedly locked a three-year-old boy in the washroom for being “too playful” in class, prompting Mundhwa police to register a case against the teacher and the school’s manager under the Juvenile Justice Act.

The incident took place between 11.15am and 2.15pm on September 8. The boy, aged three years and four months, was attending nursery at the school. His 38-year-old mother, a professor, lodged a complaint with the police.

According to the complaint, the mother was informed about the incident when she went to pick up her son. The child also told her that he had been locked inside the washroom. When confronted, the teacher allegedly admitted to locking him up for some time, claiming he was being too playful and there was no other space available to keep him.

The mother subsequently sought CCTV footage from the school management. After repeated follow-ups, she was shown the footage on September 21, which allegedly captured the teacher locking the child inside the washroom.

However, when the parents sought a copy of the recording the following day, the management reportedly said the footage had been overwritten. The parents suspect that the recording was deliberately deleted.

Mundhwa police have registered a case against the teacher and the manager and are investigating the matter.
