Pune: Row Over Washing Vehicle Amid Water Cuts Leaves 7 Injured in Charholi’s Housing Society
Charholi, 22nd October 2026: An argument over water use during ongoing cuts escalated into a clash between two families at a housing society in Charholi on Tuesday, leaving seven people injured.
Alandi police have registered two cross-complaints following the incident, which took place around 10.30am, after a society member objected to an autorickshaw driver washing his vehicle with a pipe connected to a common borewell.
Sub-inspector Ajit Kakade said the society member asked the 46-year-old driver to use a bucket instead. According to the member’s complaint, the driver and his family abused him and assaulted other residents after he raised the objection.
The driver, however, alleged that he was washing his vehicle with a bucket when five society members abused and assaulted him, his wife and their two sons with a bucket.
The two complainants — the driver and a 33-year-old private company employee — have accused each other of assault. Police have registered cases under sections 118, 189, 190 and 191 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including provisions related to rioting.
