SPPU, Germany’s University of Cologne Launch International Summer School in Pune
Pune, 26th October 2026: The Department of Education and Extension at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), in collaboration with the University of Cologne, Germany, inaugurated the International Summer School on October 25, 2026. The programme will run until November 1, 2026, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Geeta Shinde, Head of the Department.
The programme brings together eight German students and two German professors to explore inclusive education, special education and innovative educational practices. Through academic sessions, intercultural activities and educational excursions, the initiative aims to strengthen Indo-German academic cooperation and promote cross-cultural learning.
Representatives from the University of Cologne include Prof. Caustan Klopfer, Prof. Eva Zoller and Dr. Amisha Jain, Head of the India Office.
The inauguration was attended by Chief Guests Prof. Dr. Parag Kalkar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of SPPU, and Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav, Director of the School of Education at SPPU. Faculty members from the Department of Education and Extension, research scholars and the organising team of the Summer School programme were also present.
