Pune, 26th October 2026: The ‘Chief Minister’s Health Dialogue: Jagar Arogyacha’ initiative reached 11,630 students across Pune district through 118 health awareness sessions conducted between October 13 and 24. Of these, 11,097 students took a pledge to maintain good health, according to a press release issued on October 24.

The initiative aimed to promote health awareness among school and college students, highlight the importance of mental well-being and encourage healthy lifestyle practices. It was implemented across Maharashtra through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Charitable Hospital Assistance Cell under the guidance of its head, Rameshwar Naik.

Of the 118 sessions organised in Pune district, 81 were conducted through colleges affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), 33 through AYUSH colleges and four through other institutions. Colleges affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University also participated in the campaign, said Dr Mansing Sable, Medical Officer at the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Charitable Hospital Assistance Cell, Pune district.

Ashtang Ayurveda College, Pune, made a significant contribution by organising the highest number of sessions in the district. The college conducted 11 sessions, with 693 students participating and all 693 taking the health pledge.

The sessions covered a range of topics, including mental health, de-addiction, suicide prevention, balanced nutrition, regular exercise, adequate sleep and the adverse effects of excessive mobile phone use. The programme emphasised the importance of physical, mental and emotional well-being.

The initiative also sought to encourage students to adopt healthy habits in their daily lives and spread awareness among their families and communities.

“Healthy students, a capable Maharashtra! The main objective of this initiative is to create health awareness among students and nurture a generation that is free from addiction, healthy and confident. Maharashtra’s bright future will be built on the health of its youth,” Dr Sable said, congratulating everyone who contributed to the campaign.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen preventive healthcare awareness and encourage young people to make informed choices about their health and well-being.
