Shocking: 21-Year-Old Girl Raped By Bus Cleaner While Travelling From Nagpur To Pune

Pune, January 11, 2021: A 21-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a bus cleaner while traveling from Nagpur to Pune. Although the incident took place during the journey, the victim lodged a complaint with Pune rural police after reaching Pune.

According to police, the girl hails from Gondia district and works with a private company in Ranjangaon MIDC in Pune district. She had gone to a village in Bhandara district for her sister’s wedding. The incident took place while returning to Pune after the wedding. She had boarded the bus in Nagpur.

During the journey, Sameer Deokar (25), bus cleaner, gagged her, threatened her with a knife, and raped her. After reaching Pune on the morning of January 6, the victim approached the police station with the help of a friend and lodged a complaint. Pune Rural Police has transferred the case to Malegaon Police Station, Washim district police, for further investigation.

The accused youth has been on the run after the crime. Police are further investigating the case and looking for the suspect.
