Pune, January 16, 2021: The vaccination campaign for Coronavirus has been banned till January 18 in Maharashtra. The State Health Department said that the vaccination program in Maharashtra has been suspended due to technical problems in the CoWIN app, which is being used to register beneficiaries and keep a track of the vaccination.

In Mumbai, the vaccination target of 4000 people could not be met today due to a technical glitch on the first day of Corona vaccination. The government has said that vaccination could not be done through the offline medium. 

A total of 18,000 healthcare staff in Maharashtra received the vaccine dose on the first day.

One day halt in Odisha 

After the first day of vaccination, the Odisha government has said that no vaccine will be given to anyone in the state on Sunday. Additional Chief Secretary in Health and Family Welfare Department PK Mohapatra said that the government will examine the people who were vaccinated. 

Mohapatra said, “We want to keep an eye on those who have taken the vaccine. It (vaccination) will resume from Monday and will continue till 3.28 lakh health workers are vaccinated.” 

Odisha is the first state in the country that has banned the vaccination program. Eight thousand six hundred seventy-five people have been vaccinated on the first day, and the government will observe these people on Sunday. The vaccination campaign will be started once again from Monday. 

How many people got vaccinated in the country 

On the first day in the country, 1 lakh 91 thousand 181 people were vaccinated against Coronavirus. For this, 3351 vaccination centres were built across the country. The Health Ministry said that so far, no case of hospitalization has come to light after vaccination.
