Pune: Fake NOC Of Defence Ministry Submitted For Construction Work, Air Force Files Police Complaint

Pune, January 22, 2021: A fake No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India was submitted to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for construction within prescribed limits of the Indian Air Force base.

A case has been registered against the three persons at Kondhwa police station on behalf of Indian Air Force. The accused persons have been booked for cheating and forgery related sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The site at survey number 63/2 in Kondhwa Budruk falls under the jurisdiction of the Air Force. The incident took place on March 13, 2020. After verification, the case complaint was lodged now.

The Aircraft Act, 1934, empowers the Central Government to impose a restriction on the construction of buildings and other structures within a radius of 20 Km from all aerodromes (base). As per a Gazette notification, NOC is required for constructions in the vicinity of IAF airfields for which applications will be processed by IAF include:-
(a) New Aerodromes/Helipads/ Aircraft Operating Surfaces.
(b) Power Projects/WTGs/Solar Power Modules.
(c) Buildings/Factories/Chimneys/Industrial Complexes etc.
(d) Transmission lines Towers, Mobile Network Communication Towers, Microwave Link Towers, TV Towers, FM Transmission Towers etc

According to police, the accused had submitted a fake NOC for obtaining construction permission. The matter is being investigated by Assistant Police Inspector Chetan More of Kondhwa police station.
