Pune: PMC To Start Oxygen Production In Its Hospital
Pune, 17th May 2021: In the second wave of Coronavirus, after the oxygen shortage hit the city, the Pune municipal corporation (PMC) has now started oxygen production in its hospital. Two projects of the municipal corporation have been started and a total of 12 projects have been activated.
This will increase the production to 20 tons per day. Although the second wave of the corona is receding, the number of critically ill patients is still on the rise and the oxygen demand is increasing.
The Municipal Corporation has emphasized oxygen production so that there is no shortage of oxygen and no emergency arises, said Mayor Muralidhar Mohol. Work has been started to install oxygen generating plants in the medium and large hospitals of the corporation. 12 projects will be started in 8 hospitals. The required materials have been ordered from the USA, France and Netherlands.
All these projects will generate 10,583 litres of oxygen per minute. At present, a total of seven plants have been installed at PMC hospitals to store 40 tons of liquid oxygen.
