Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh’s Nagpur House Raided By ED, Troubles Increased For Deshmukh
Mumbai/ Nagpur, 25th June 2021: Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and his close associates were raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) this morning. This action is likely to increase Deshmukh’s troubles.
It is learnt that the ED team reached Nagpur from Mumbai on Thursday night. On Friday morning, a team from Mumbai with the help of local ED officials raided Deshmukh’s residence at GPO Chowk and the homes of his close associates. This time a large contingent of police was with the ED officers. It also included the women’s battalion of the CRPF.
On June 16, three ED teams raided the homes of two CAs and a coal trader. Soon after the raid, Deshmukh was also likely to be questioned by ED officials. That might be the reason for this action.
After the case of Rs 100 crore, extortion came to light, the CBI registered a case against Deshmukh and started an investigation. The CBI had found documents of two fake companies in Kolkata. Billions of rupees were transacted by this fake company. The CBI suspected that they belonged to Deshmukh. The ED then became active in this case. The ED filed a felony case.
On May 25, three ED teams raided Sagar Bhatewara at Hare Krishna Apartment in Shivajinagar in Ambazari, Samit Isaac in New Colony in Sadar and Qadri brothers in Jafarnagar in Gittikhadan. All three are friends of Deshmukh’s son Salil Deshmukh.
The ED has also talked to DCP Raju Bhujbal of Mumbai Police. Bhujbal currently heads the Enforcement Wing of the Crime Branch. Under this wing, he also heads the Social Security wing. All the hookah parlours, dance bars, bars and restaurants are inspected by the social security wing. Hence, his work was directly related to the money laundering case related to Deshmukh.
It must be noted that CBI has also raided the houses and offices of Anil Deshmukh and his relatives and seized many documents in the 100 crore case.
