Excise Department Seals Another Club In Pune For Serving Alcohol To Minors

Viman Nagar, 23rd May 2024: In a significant crackdown, the Pune Excise Department has sealed The Grand, a club and bar restaurant in Viman Nagar, for serving liquor to minors. The operation took place last night, following a raid by excise officials.

Deputy Superintendent of the Pune Excise Department, Sujit Patil, informed Punekar News that the raid was conducted on May 22 after receiving credible reports that the club was violating the law by serving alcohol to underage patrons. During the inspection, it was confirmed that foreign liquors were being served to minors, prompting immediate action.

“The Grand in Viman Nagar was found to be in gross violation of the excise regulations. Serving alcohol to minors is a serious offence, and we have taken stringent action to ensure such practices are curbed,” stated Patil.

The club has been sealed, and further investigations are underway to determine the extent of the violations.
