Pune: 57 Lakh People Vaccinated Till 21st July

Pune, 22nd July 2021: vaccination to 57.4 lakh people in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and rural areas were completed on Wednesday (July 21). The first dose has been given to 43.73 lakh, while the second dose has been given to 13.31 lakh people. In the last eight days, the administration has succeeded in vaccinating 3.60 lakh people in the district including the city.

 

The district administration said that according to 2011 census, the population of Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and the rural areas is 94.26 lakh. Considering the last ten years, at, present the total population of the district including the city is supposed to be around one and a half crore.  As of July 21, more than 57 lakh people have been vaccinated. Half of the total population of the district will be given at least one dose of vaccine by the end of July.

 

Vaccination has gained momentum in Pune as the supply of vaccines is getting better with few exceptions. Vaccination is underway at 196 vaccine centres in Pune city, 85 in Pimpri-Chinchwad and 417 in rural areas. The administration is preparing to vaccinate 1.25 lakh citizens every day. The district administration also said that if the vaccines were made available in this quantity, the vaccination of the entire district would be completed soon and it would help in reducing the mortality rate.
