Pune: Maharashtra Government Pushes for Online-Only Public Services

Pune, 7th May 2025: Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation Limited’s Managing Director Sanjay Katkar on Tuesday underlined the state government’s policy to deliver all public services online, aiming for faster delivery and improved citizen experience.
Katkar was speaking at a meeting of Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra operators held at the Pune District Collector’s Office. The session, attended by senior officials including Additional District Collector Suhas Mapari and tehsildars from Haveli and Pimpri Chinchwad, focused on streamlining citizen services through digital platforms.
“The goal is to bring all government services to citizens in a timely manner via online systems. This not only enhances transparency but also helps make citizens’ lives easier,” Katkar said. He urged Seva Kendra operators to treat citizens courteously and ensure that crucial documents, especially certificates needed after Class 10 and 12 results, are issued within stipulated timelines.
Katkar also acknowledged technical difficulties faced by operators while navigating the government’s service portal. He assured that the administration would take corrective action and added that specialized training would be arranged for both government staff and operators to build capacity and efficiency.
Significantly, the state is working to integrate services provided by municipal corporations into the Seva Kendra platform, allowing citizens to access all essential services from a single point of contact.
Additional Collector Suhas Mapari also presented the ‘Sevadut’ initiative launched by the district administration, which aims to deliver government services directly to citizens’ homes within set deadlines.
