Pune, 29th January 2023: A PMPML bus and a two-wheeler collided head-on, killing two youths on the spot, in front of Aquarius Hotel in the Gorhe Budruk area on Sinhagad road.

Aditya Rajendra Deshmukh (22), a resident of Tanish Srishti, Alandi Devachi, and Nilesh Mallesh Mitre (22), a resident of Tadiwala Road, are the names of the youths who died in this accident.

Yesterday, around 10:30 PM, the bus was going to Khanapur from Swargate while the youth were coming from Donje side towards Pune on a two-wheeler.

The bus and the two-wheeler collided head-on in front of Aquarius Hotel, which is adjacent to Khadakwasla Dam, in the limits of Gorhe Budruk village. In this accident, both youths were in critical condition. They were rushed to a private hospital for treatment, but doctors said they died before treatment.

As soon as the information about the accident was received, the police personnel of the Haveli police station reached the spot. The bodies of both the youths have been sent from a private hospital to Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem. Under the guidance of Police Inspector Sadashiv Shelar, Assistant Police Faujdar Satish Kadam is conducting further investigation.

The road at the place where the accident happened is curvy, there are no street lights, and it is dark at night. As the road work has been done, the vehicles come and go very fast. Since there is no speed limiter anywhere on the road, there is no control over the speed; so many accidents have happened at this place in the past. The Public Works Department has not taken any measures for the safety of citizens when there have been many accidents.
