Despicable denigration of Deity Shiv, Trident and Hindus’ seats of faith through images posted on Facebook

*Ranaragini branch of HJS lodges complaint with the Police against Durga Malathi who caused severe
contempt of Hindu Deities; warns agitation if no action is taken_*

Under the pretext of incidents in Kathua and Unnao, a certain anti-social tendencies are making an attempt to create a communal divide and incite the public sentiments throughout the country. As a part of this conspiracy, one Ms. Durga Malathi, a retired Assistant Professor of a college in Pattambi, Kerala has uploaded objectionable and provocative images of Deity Shiv, trident – a weapon of Deity Shiv, in the form of male sexual organ on her Facebook page and thus, hurt the religious sentiments of crores of Hindus. In this regard, Mrs. Rajashri Gadekar from Goa of Ranaragini branch of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, have today lodged the complaints with the Cyber Cell.

The Police complaint states that despite being well acquainted with social status and religious feelings of Hindus, Prof. Malathi has posted the picture deliberately to outrage the religious feelings and insulting religious beliefs of a class and published with a specific intention so as to reach crores of people in the country. Apart from hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus, the pictures have caused great contempt for Hindus. Since the pictures will be harmful to the communal harmony of the society and disturb law and order, the immediate ban should be imposed on the Facebook account of Prof. Malathi. Also, an offence against Durga Malathi should be registered under section 295A and 153A of Indian Penal Code and stringent action should be taken against her, demanded Ranaragini branch. The denigration of such nature in respect of Hindu Deities in Hindu-majority India will never be tolerated. If the Police failed to take any cognisance in this case, an agitation will be launched, warned Mrs. Rajashri Gadekar on this occasion.
