Pune: SPPU Students Await Photocopies and Revaluation Results, ABVP Protests Exam Department
Pune, 25th April 2024: Many students enrolled at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) had applied for photocopies of their answer sheets after the results of the previous session were released. However, even after two to two and a half months have passed, the students have yet to receive the photocopies.
While some students received photocopies, they were not re-evaluated. Consequently, despite the deadline for filing applications for the next semester’s exams having passed, students continue to suffer due to the non-receipt of revaluation results from the previous semester’s exams. In response, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) adopted an aggressive stance and protested directly in the examination department.
Despite repeated attempts by ABVP to engage with the department and provide statements, the issue remains unresolved. As a result, ABVP has protested against the examination department, demanding immediate provision of photocopies for students who have applied, completion of the revaluation process, and prompt declaration of revaluation results for those awaiting them. Additionally, ABVP has urged the university to refund examination fees for subjects in which students pass after revaluation.
Anil Thombare, ABVP’s Maharashtra Minister, emphasized that Pune University, often hailed as the Oxford of the East, is failing its students by delaying mark checks and photocopying results.
Harshvardhan Harpude, ABVP’s Pune Minister, warned that if the examination department fails to address these issues promptly, ABVP will launch a significant movement against it, highlighting the department’s inefficiency.
