A 16-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool due to shortness of breath while swimming in Pune

Pune, 3rd May 2022: On Monday (May 1) evening, A 16-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool at Jambhulwadi in the Katraj area.

The deceased has been identified as Somesh Rathod, a resident of Sachchasimata Mandir, Katraj. Rathod went to swim in a swimming pool in the Jambhulwadi area. Rathod had gone for a swim in the swimming pool on Monday afternoon.

This happening came to the notice of a boy who was watching Rathod in a swimming pool. He informed the management of the swimming pool about this. Rathod’s body was pulled out of the water.

No lifeguards were deployed in the vicinity of the swimming pool. The residents had lodged a complaint with the Municipal Corporation (PMC) a few days back in this regard.

Residents have blamed the accident on the irresponsible management of the swimming pool. A case of sudden death has been registered at Bharati University Police Station in this case.
