Library to be opened for commercial sex workers in Pune

Pune, 25th February 2020: Saheli Sangh Sanstha and Maitra Yuva Foundation will launch a library for the commercial sex workers (CSWs) in Budhwar Peth. The books there will be available in various languages. Around 1500 women are currently present at the brothels in redlight area of Budhwar Peth.

The library will be inaugurated on Sunday (1st March) at 1 pm at Sarvajanik Kaka Sabhagruha in Budhwar Peth. The inauguration will be held in the presence of educationist and other dignitaries from various fields, said Tejasawi Sevekari, director of the Saheli Sangh in the press conference held today.

The founding president of Maitra Yuva Foundation, Ashok Deshpande, Mandakini Bhadane, Mahadevi Madar and others were also present.

Many famous people will be present at the book distribution program. People, writers, publishers are invited to be a part of this book distribution. For this, the institution has appealed that the books should be brought in the office of Saheli, in front of Shrinath Talkies in Budhwar Peth.
