Saumitra Shinde from Kalmadi Highschool bags ‘Seed IT Idol – Junior’ title
Pune, 18th September 2017: A brightest mind of all, Saumitra Shinde, a 10thgrade student of Dr. Shamrao Kalmadi High School crossed all odds and competed against thousands of like minds to bag the ‘SEED IT Idol Junior’ title of 2017 which was held recently at Annabhau Sathe Auditorium, Satara Road. This was the 4th Edition of this unique competition conceptualized and conducted by SEED Infotech, a leading IT Training and Staffing Company with an aim to elevate enthusiasm about Information Technology amongst school students.
An 8th grade girl student Shriya Subeerya of Indira National School was the first runner up and Anish Pophale, 10th grader from MES Bal Shikshan Mandir was the second runner-up. The winner received cash prize of Rs.5000 while the 1st runner up and 2nd runner up received Rs.3000 and Rs.2000 respectively. All the finalists were felicitated & given attractive gifts like T-shirts, bags, discount coupons along with the certificates & six months membership of Prabhu Dnyan Mandir. The prizes were given at the hands of Shailaja Mudhale, Head HR, SEED Infotech Ltd.
The first round of the contest was conducted throughout the month of August that had participation of 11 thousand students from 8th, 9th and 10th grade of around 20 schools across the city. From all the participants about 800 students made through the second round and 10 best of those were in the finals.
To make the competition difficult and to add intensity, all the finalists were made to appear an Online exam on a specially created Software where only 30 seconds were allotted to answer each question of the series related to IT and Computers.
It was no simple test, all the rounds were discreetly marked based on the speed, aptitude and overall performance of the students. Evaluation was done based on marks received in all three rounds of the competition.
Top 10 finalists including the winners received benefits like 6 months membership at Prabhu Dnyan Mandir, T-shirts, Bags and Discount coupons. Also, to boost the morale and motivate the young minds further, SEED distributed 50 medals of Merits and gave 6 months membership at Prabhu Dnyan Mandir to other students.
