VICAT FRANCE takes its Flagship brand “VICAT” to Rest of Maharashtra, after recent launch at Mumbai
Pune, November 2018: Kalburgi Cement Company Pvt. Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of VICAT France, which had recently launched its flagship brand “VICAT” brand in Mumbai Market with the inauguration of 1.2 MTPA bulk cement terminal in Mumbai, has now expanded its footprint by launching the brand in all Market of Mahrashtra.
Mr. Anoop Kumar Saxena, CEO, VICAT INDIA, said, “Cement demand in India is expected to grow by 7% this year driven by the Center’s push on affordable housing schemes, infrastructure projets and rural development. Excited with the good response of VICAT brand in Mumbai, company has decided to launch of the brand to serve the all market of Maharastra with the best quality cement and best service level.” Two products under brand VICAT are launched; VICAT OPTIMATE & VICAT DURAMATE.
VICAT OPTIMATE is a premium quality OPC 53 grade cement from VICAT group. It has one of the best properties in its grade of cement. This product is manufactured using the best limestone available in Gulbarga cluster with optimum fineness and with low percentage of Alkalies, chlorides, magnesia which ensures better durability of the concrete structures. Due to development of high early compressive strength VICAT OPTIMATE provides lesser de-shuttering period, high early compressive strength of concrete and results in saving the cement consumption.
VICAT OPTIMATE is used in the construction of residential and commercial projects, concrete precast structures, roads and by major RMC manufacturers. This is choice of RMC players and it helps in making highly compressive design from concrete.
Another product VICAT DURAMATE is premium quality blended cement manufactured by inter grinding high quality clinker and the best quality High Reactive Silica (HRS) which is collected from Electro Static Precipitators (ESP) of power plants. VICAT DURAMATE generates reduced heat of hydration with lesser thermal shrinkage cracks. It offers high durability characteristics, particularly in hydraulic structures and marine constructions. VICAT DURAMATE has high fineness hence the conrete becomes more cohesive.
VICAT FRANCE is well known name gobally in cement industry. Histoy of group started in year 1817 when Mr. Louis VICAT invented artificial cement to build a bridge in Soiullac on France’s Dordgne river and thereafter legacy and expertise is developed by generation after generation. Today this group is led by 7th generation of Mr. Louis VICAT.
Mr. Joseph VICAT, son of Mr. Louis VICAT started VICAT group by establshing 1st plant in 1853 in France. Today the group operates in 12 countries namely Egypt, France, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal, Switzerland, Turkey, and United Staes. It has 15 integrated cement plants, 5 grinding units, 243 concrete batching plants and 69 aggregate quarries globally. It has turn over of 2600 million Euros with 8460 employees.
VICAT entered India in a joint venture with an Indian partner with a proposal to establish an integrated plant in 2008. In year 2014, VICAT take 100% stake of the joint venture and renamed it as Kalburgi Cement Pvt. Ltd.
During 2010, VICAT took another operating company Bharathi Cement with Indian partner having 5.5 Million Tons Per Annum (MTPA) capacity. It has an integrated cement plant consisting 2 lines in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, total capacity of group in India is 7.75 MTPA.
Currently, the company has operations in eight states namely Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahashtra, Puducherry and Tamilnadu, with a strong network of 3300 dealers.
VICAT also plans to make an investment of 223 million Euros which includes second line of 2.75MTPA capacity in exsting Kalburgi Cement Plant and establish a grinding unit of 1.7 MTPA capacity at Vizag in Andhra Pradesh to expand its footprint.
