WORLD KIDNEY DAY CELEBRATION AT PUNE COMMAND HOSPITAL
World Kidney Day was celebrated by Command Hospital (Southern Command), Pune on the 14th of March 2019.The theme for this year was “KIDNEY HEALTH FOR EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE”.
On this occasion, ‘Health Walk’ was undertaken by Medical, Nursing faculties and Paramedics of Command Hospital, Pune to create awareness about Kidney diseases. This was followed by a screening camp for early detection of Kidney diseases especially in children.
The Department of Nephrology and Paediatric Nephrology conducted an interactive educational session for the military personnel and their families highlighting the importance of simple measures for prevention, need for early identification and appropriate management of renal diseases.
The educational awareness programme was concluded with a talk on the importance of kidney donation for saving lives delivered by the Hospital Transplant Team.
