In the introductory lecture of the series, Dr. Deglurkar said, creating awareness about the heritage is important. Philosophers have personified philosophy through images which is wonderful in itself. It is done only by Indian artists. As a community, we share the responsibility to identify and respect what is important, stressed Deglurkar.

Further adding to the lecture,Deglurkar said, culture is divided into two categories material and metaphysical. Where civilization lies under the category of material culture whereas philosophy, spirituality and religion come under the category of metaphysical culture.

Emphasizing on Indian culture he said, “Like India, culture of several places like Egypt, Italy, Greece, Iraq and Mesopotamia is ancient. If we take Egypt into consideration their culture has been disturbed. What remains with them now is in the form of pyramids and mummies. But Indian culture is being continued. Though there has been development and some newly added things. Therefore, our culture is the oldest and we must be proud of it. ”

The next lecture in the series will be conducted on Thursday, February 8, by Anand Kanitkar who will address the audience on
