Pune, 28th July 2026: Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has opened its first approved body shop in Pune, marking a significant step in strengthening its after-sales service network in India. The facility has been established in partnership with the Modi Auto Group and is located in Baner. The new centre is designed to carry out Tesla-approved collision repairs and vehicle restoration using the company’s global repair standards.

According to reports, the body shop is equipped with Tesla-certified repair processes, specialised infrastructure and trained technicians to handle repairs for Tesla vehicles. The facility will undertake structural repairs, bodywork and restoration while adhering to the manufacturer’s specifications, ensuring vehicles are restored to factory standards.

The launch comes shortly after Tesla began its retail operations in India, as the company continues to expand its presence beyond vehicle sales. Strengthening the after-sales ecosystem is considered a key step in supporting existing and future Tesla owners in the country.

The partnership with Modi Auto Group reflects Tesla’s strategy of building a reliable service infrastructure in India through local automotive partners. The company has stated that the collaboration aims to improve customer support and raise service standards for electric vehicle owners in the country.

The opening of the approved body shop also reinforces Pune’s growing importance in India’s automotive and electric mobility ecosystem. Home to several global automotive manufacturers and technology companies, the city continues to attract investments in advanced mobility, engineering and vehicle service infrastructure.

Tesla has not announced any additional details regarding the capacity of the Pune facility or future expansion plans for similar approved body shops in other Indian cities.
