​Petrol price increased by Rs 3 to compensate govt loss due to liqour ban along highways

Pune – The Maharashtra government has increased VAT on Petrol by Rs 3 from Friday midnight. 

Now you will have to shell out Rs 3 extra for a litre of petrol.

“The VAT increased is to compensate the loss of VAT incurred due to ban of alcohol sale on highway. Maharashtra Govt is suffering heavily due to Supreme Court’s decision”, said Ali Daruwala, spokesperson for the all India petrol dealers’ association.
