100 feet high Tricolor hoisted at Pune railway station

Pune, January 26, 2019 – It has been decided by the Ministry of Railways to set up a 100-ft pillar at the 75 stations of A-1 category all over the country and to hoist the national flag on it. Accordingly, a 100-ft high flag pillar has been erected near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Pune station.On the occasion of Republic Day, Pune MP Anil Shirole unfurled the tricolor for the first time on the 100-ft high flag stand. To see this historic moment, school children, civilians, travelers were present in large numbers.Addressing on the occasion, Shri Shirole said that India is on the path of development. “We have to step towards Swaraj from Suraj. We have to adopt transparency in life and contribute towards freeing India from corruption, free from dirt and panic”, he added.The MP appreciated the development work carried out by Railways.On this occasion, Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Milind Deouskar said that this pillar has been built in less than a month and it will inspire people to create a sense of patriotism.Also present on the occasion were a large number of civilians, officers and employees including Mr. Praful Chandra, Railway Board Manager, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Mr. D Vikas, Senior Division Commerce Manager Mr. Krishnath Patil.
