13 Pune Students Drowned at Raigad

Pune/Raigad  – Around 13 College students including 3 girls from Pune reportedly drowned at a Murud beach in Raigad district of Maharashtra on Monday.

According to the initial reports, approximately 130 students from a reputed collage in Pune were on pick nick.

Meanwhile, the incident occurred when around 13 students, who are from computer science department of the same collage entered into the waters at late afternoon.

Initial media reports says that, the incident has taken place due to the sudden low tide at beach.

However, the police and rescue teams have managed to recover the bodies. While search operation was under way till night on Monday.

A Navy spokesperson said, “Based on informal report of children (numbers not confirmed) becoming adrift at Murud Indian Coast Guard has launched a search by one interceptor craft CG 117 and one Chetak Helicopter. One IN Chetak and one CG chetak launched by Shikra. One seaking also launched.”
