13-year-old EuroSchool Student Inspires 300+ Engineering students at TEDx Pune
Pune,7 February 2023: Kushal Khemani, a Grade 8 student of EuroSchool, Wakad (ICSE), Pune, was invited to speak at a TEDx event organised by the Cummins College of Engineering for Women on November 5, 2022. This is one of many feat to his long list of accomplishments.
Thirteen-year-old Kushal shared his views on the topic ‘Sanctuary of Innovation’, inspiring more than 300 engineering students who attended the event. Kushal captivated the audience with his anecdotal responses, wit, and humour.
Commenting on Kushal’s achievements, Ms. Renuka Dutta, Principal, EuroSchool, Wakad ICSE, said, “Kushal is a multifaceted young innovator making a difference in the world. We see students his age, generally pursuing their interests in one area. However, Kushal stands out. He has earned a spot as a changemaker, research intern at a sustainable development organisation, app developer, website designer, author, guitarist, black belt in Taekwondo and a social and animal welfare worker. Kushal has been passionate about technology since a young age. We are proud that Kushal not only positively impacted so many engineering students at the TEDx event on the theme of ‘innovation’, but also enthralled them with his poem on innovation. His innate ability as an orator helped him establish a heart-to-heart connection with the audience. I congratulate Kushal for this achievement and wish him luck in his future endeavours.”
An excited Kushal said, “I would like to thank my teachers at EuroSchool who have always encouraged me to follow my passion. They have helped me maintain a balance between studies and my extra-curricular interests because of which I could do so much in so little time.”
Kushal has several achievements to his credit. He has won numerous trophies, medals, and certificates in international Olympiads and robotics and is on his way to becoming a car designer. He is the founder of “SparkX” Animal Welfare, which rescues and feeds birds and animals, an environmentalist who owns 3DRNOBLE that prints customised 3D products from filaments made from recycled plastic, and has authored three books to encourage his fellow students to have progressive student life.
He has been recognised for his exceptional work, receiving awards such as the Pramerica-Spirit of Community International Award, I-Inspire Award, Tare Zameen Par Shining Star Award, YUVA Award, Corona Warrior Award from the India Book of Records, and the Young Transformer Award from the Nanha Gyan Foundation. Kushal’s many talents and selfless efforts make him a true inspiration.
