13th Eye India Conference held in Pune, 400 delegates participate
Pune 17 July 2019 : The Poona Blind Men’s Association’s H. V Desai Eye in Association with Maharashtra Ophthalmic society and Poona Ophthalmic society organised the 13th Eye India Conference 2019 on 13th and 14 July 2019 under the guidance of Chief Medical Director. Dr.Col.(Retd) Madan Deshpande.
Around Four Hundred delegates from all over India participated in this conference which aimed at contributing the knowledge resources for reducing the huge burden of avoidable blindness with equity, quality and affordability.
The Inauguration function was held on 14th of July. The renown faculty Padmashree Dr. Jeewan SingTitiyal, Professor at all India institute of medical science (Aims New Delhi) and Dr. Pradeep Sharma an Professor, Strabismus and Neuro-Ophthalmology, AIIMS, New Delhiwere the chief Guest. The function was hosted by Chairman Nitinbhai Desai, President Rajesh Shahand Hon. Secretory Kishorbhai Vora.
Dr. Subhadra Jalali, Director, Newborn Eye Health Alliance (NEHA), Director- Quality, LVPEI Network working at L V Prasad Eye Institute Hyderabad was awarded theprestigious Dr. Salil Gadkari Oration award for her tremendous contribution in Retinopathy of Prematurity Screening and Management. Globally she is the first person to organise the hands on Retinopathy of Prematurity surgical workshop.She has many publication’s to her credit and she has trained many national and International fellowsin retinopathy of prematurity.
Dr. Mrs. Neeta Gadkari (Wife of late Dr. Salil Gadkari) gave the donation worth Rs. Fifty Lacsfor the equipment required for Retinopathy of Prematurity Screening and Management.

The Conference was great academic feast for medical as well as Paramedical people. It covered all the aspects of Ophthalmology from basic to advance. The faculty shared their experiencesand skillsin very elaborative way. Apart from clinical aspect it also covered the practice Management related to patient eye care.
