14-Year-Old Girl Saves Two Months Old Baby, Loses Her Leg

Raigad/Pune, 10th August 2021: Sakshi Narayan Dabhekar is a brave heart. She lost her leg while saving a two-month-old baby of her neighbour at Keonale village near Umrath in Poladpur taluka of Raigad district.

It happened so that Sakshi was sitting at her house when she heard the loud noise. She came out of the house to see what is happening. She saw the wall of the neighbouring house was collapsing. She ran into the house as she knew about the baby girl.

She saved the girl and injured her back. In that accident, she lost her leg, but she was managed to save the baby. She has been admitted at Poladpur, Mahad but later shifted to KEM in Mumbai for surgery and her leg had to be amputated below the knee.

Sakshi is a good sportsperson studying in standard 9th at Deole school in Poladpur.

Pune-based Umesh Kasat, Laxmikant Mundada and Nischit Maheshwari visited Sakshi at the hospital in Mumbai and handed over Rs 50,000 for her treatment.
