15 Passengers Injured In Accident On Mumbai-Pune Expressway
Khopoli, 14th November 2022: A terrible accident has taken place between a truck and a bus on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. Reportedly, the passengers of the bus were seriously injured in this accident.
After the accident, locals, highway passers-by and police immediately started rescue operations. The accident took place at a distance of 40 km from Khopoli police station limits.
The injured have been immediately shifted to the nearest hospital. The preliminary guess is that the brake of the truck going towards Pune failed, due to which the truck broke the divider and entered the Mumbai lane. The scrap in between was scattered and pieces of scrap were thrown into the bus. The bus was fully loaded, and 15 passengers were injured. It is reported that two of them are seriously injured. These passengers have been admitted to the hospital.
Naved Khan, the driver of truck number MH-40- BG- 3457, was going from Pune to Mumbai when the brakes of the truck failed. The truck crossed from Mumbai lane to Pune lane and hit bus number KA-41-D-1471, causing the accident. Khan, a truck driver from Nagpur and two passengers on the bus were seriously injured in this accident. Along with him, 13 other people have been taken to the hospital for treatment by ambulance.
