Kondhwa, 15th July 2026 : A 16-year-old student studying at a madrasa in Pune’s Kondhwa area has gone missing under mysterious circumstances, prompting the Kondhwa Police to register an FIR and launch an investigation. The teenager’s family has appealed to the public for assistance in tracing him.

According to the FIR registered at Kondhwa Police Station (FIR No. 0522/2026) under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the missing boy has been identified as Kamran Taj Mohammad Shaikh (16), who had been residing and studying at Madrasa Darul Uloom Rashidiya, Bhagyoday Nagar, Galli No. 15, Kondhwa for the last three to four years.

The complaint was lodged by his father, Taj Mohammad Shaikh (40), a labourer and resident of Gultekdi, Pune. In his complaint, he stated that he regularly visited Kondhwa Police Station for work-related purposes and that his son had been staying at the madrasa to pursue religious education.

According to the complaint, on July 13, the father received a phone call from Maulana Qari Saad from the madrasa informing him that Kamran was missing. He immediately rushed to the madrasa, where he met Shahid Qasmi, who informed him that at around 5.45 pm, Kamran had allegedly left the madrasa premises without informing anyone and had not returned.

The FIR states that after learning about the incident, the family searched extensively in Kondhwa and nearby areas and also contacted relatives and acquaintances in an effort to trace the teenager. However, despite their efforts, they were unable to locate him. Suspecting that an unknown person may have lured the minor away from their lawful custody, the father approached Kondhwa Police and lodged a complaint.

Police have registered the case and initiated an investigation. The probe has been entrusted to Police Sub-Inspector Mahendra Shankar Doke.

As per the FIR, Kamran is approximately 4.5 feet tall, has a fair complexion, short black hair, and was last seen wearing a white kurta and black pyjama. The complaint further states that he was not carrying any valuable belongings when he left the madrasa.

Speaking about his son’s disappearance, Taj Mohammad Shaikh said, “My son has been studying at the madrasa for the last three to four years and has never left without informing anyone. On the day he went missing, he kept his bag in the office and quietly walked out while everyone was offering namaz. Since then, he has not returned. We have searched everywhere, including nearby areas and among our relatives, but we have not found him. We are extremely worried and request everyone to help us bring him back home.”

He added, “If anyone has seen my son or has any information about his whereabouts, please contact us immediately. Even the smallest piece of information can help us reunite with him.”

The family has appealed to the public to contact them on 9673058483 if they have any information regarding Kamran’s whereabouts. They have also requested citizens to immediately inform Kondhwa Police Station if the teenager is spotted.
