160 players for the Kunte Chess Academy Open chess tournament

Pune, April 13, 2024: A total 160 players will be seen in action in the Kunte Chess Academy Open chess tournament to be organized by Kunte Chess Academy in association with Talera Garden and played at Talera Garden, Maharshi Nagar on sunday 14th April 2024.

Mrunalini Kunte, Director of Kunte Chess Academy informed that The tournament will be held under the auspices of PDCC. Mr.Subhash Talera of Talera Garden has given their facility for Chess Tournament to promote Chess in Pune. The event will be played under Swiss league format. The event will be held in 3 categories Group A: Rated category(Above 1600 rating), Group B: Rated category(Rating 1400 to 1600), Group C: Unrated category, .

Prominent players who have confirmed their entries for the event include rated players in Gaurav Bakliwal(2106), Anjaneya Phatak(1953), Prathamesh Sherla(1932) while in group B Shravni Undale(1599), Chirag Khatri(1598), Shubham Rahinj(1592), Alaukik Sinha(1588). The tournament has a total cash prize of Rs. 40000/- .

The Tournament will be conducted by Chief arbiter IA Nitin Shenvi.
