1st May as MAHARASHTRA ORTHOPEDIC DAY ( MOA Day )
35 years ago, Maharashtra Orthopedic association has been established on May 1983. Taking it in to consideration, from this year, the association has decided to celebrate 1st the May as the Foundation day of Maharashtra Orthopedic Association. Maharashtra Orthopedics association is an apex association of the state orthopedic experts /surgeons/specialists and is also associated with Indian Orthopedic Association. Today, the association has 1614 members. Well known Orthopedics expert/ surgeon/ specialist Dr.Parag Sancheti of Sancheti Hospital is the president and the famous Orthopedic expert/surgeon/specialist Dr.Prakash Sigedar from Jalna is the Secretary and the treasurer of the association. Maharashtra Orthopedic association is always engaged in enhancing the knowledge of medical faculty members as well as in their welfare.
To mark 1st May as foundation Day the association has decided to celebrate the same by organizing various social activities.
The members have decided to serve voluntarily and devote at least 6 hours on 1st May to guide the common public about health problems, orthopedic problems and how to overcome these problems.
All district level Orthopedic associations of MOA are going to arrange free of cost opd camps. They are also arranging health education and public awareness programmers all over the state. Each districts will be involved for contributing for this CSR activity of MOA. In this week from 29th April to 4th May 2018 various public awareness programme, tree plantation, free health camps have been arranged.
Through free health camps a series of public awareness lectures have been planned on health problems like bone fragileness, knee pain, back pain, handicappers, how to give first aid etc. All the enthusiastic members of Maharashtra Orthopedic association are going to contribute in these activities by all possible means for the welfare of the society.
President Dr.Parag Sancheti and the secretary Dr.Prakash Sigedar are the motivating force who introduced the concept of celebrating the foundation day and all the members of association agreed unanimously to implement the programmes and take it all over the Maharashtra so that it will benefit the conman man.
There is a great misunderstanding and fear about Orthopedics problems in the minds of conman man. These programmes will reduce it. These programmes will also help to reduce the valley between the doctors and the patients.
The local public representatives and social workers are included in these programmers so as to make it more participating.
Posters, Pamphlet, newspapers, Social Media, face book, what’s app etc will be used to propagate the health awareness in common people. On the occasion of the foundation day, a series of lectures and discussions on health education has been arranged in schools, colleges, senior citizens groups.
This activity will be benefiting to all common people of Maharashtra.
All Executive Members of MOA and all Presidents and Secretary of all Districts of Maharashtra are tirelessly working to make this event successful.
