2 employees killed in blast at Khadki Ammunition Factory
Pune, 15th June 2017 – A blast has been reported at the Khadki ordnance factory today morning, 2 persons feared dead.
The incident took place around 9 am today.
Ammunition Factory Khadki situated near the bank of Mula River is a premier Factory (Small Arms) manufacturing ammunition.
Four more employees injured in the incident.
The workers were keeping the explosives plates when they bumped into each other.
The accident took place in the F2 section. The explosion has taken place while transferring the explosive from one place to another. Both experienced workers.
Deceased identified as Ashok Kashinath (52) and Marya Rock (48)
“The incident happened today morning at the time of shifiting the explosion. It was regular work which was being carried out.Two workres have got burn injuries and died. Military explosive experts are on the site and investigations is on. There is no damage to the buildings and the situation is under control” defence spokesperson said.
