20 Trees Uprooted in Pune Rains; Elderly Woman Swept Away Near Nawale Bridge, IMD Warns of More Showers

Pune, 13th June 2025: Heavy overnight rainfall triggered at least 20 tree fall incidents across various parts of Pune city, disrupting traffic and damaging property. In a tragic incident, an elderly woman was swept away in a drain near Nawale Bridge, Sinhgad Road. A search operation has been launched by the Pune Fire Brigade to trace her.

According to fire brigade officials, most tree falls were reported from residential areas and roadways, leading to temporary roadblocks. Teams were deployed immediately to clear the fallen trees and restore vehicular movement.
