25 Areas In Pune Are Flood Prone, 84 Villages In Rural Areas In Danger Zone
Pune, 28th July 2021- A list of flood-prone regions in the district has been provided by the Pune district administration. According to the list, floods threaten 25 localities in Pune, PCMC, and 84 in rural areas.
As a result, local governments have been urged to take the appropriate precautions in flood-prone areas and to evacuate the affected inhabitants in the event of increased rainfall.
Maharashtra’s Konkan, Kolhapur, and Sangli have recently experienced floods as a result of severe rains. This has resulted in a significant loss. To minimise such occurrences, the Pune district administration compiled a list of flood-prone regions.
The district’s Ghats and dams are still experiencing heavy rains. Citizens in flood-prone districts and communities have been notified as a result.
Collector Rajesh Deshmukh remarked that special attention should be paid to these villages, and that if the rainfall increases, employees in charge of disaster management should remain at the headquarters.
Accordingly, in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad cities, the following areas are vulnerable to floods: Hingane Khurd, Vitthalwadi, Pulachi Wadi, Patil Estate, Shantinagar in Yerawada and Indiranagar, Sangamwadi, Loni Kalbhor, Chande, Wakad, Aundh, Dapodi, Sangvi, Baner, Hingangaon, Pimpri, Chinchwad, Kasarwadi, Pimple Saudagar, Pimple Gurav, Rahatni, Choviswadi, Nirgude, and Sangvi.

Bhor – Parhati, Lumewadi, and Nira, Khed – Sangurdi, Ambegaon – Chandoli, Paragon, Nigudsar, Narodi, Chincholi, Jawale, Padwal, Ganegaon Dumala, Babhulsar and Tandli, Junnar – Sakhargaon and Narayangaon, Haveli – Pimpri Sandus, Dongargaon, Burke Gaon, Perne, Ashtapur, Nhavisandas and Vadu Khurd, Shirur – Shikrapur, Koregaon Bhima, Digrajwadi, Vitthalwadi, Wadgaon Rasai, Vadu Budruk, Apti, Ranjangaon, Sandus and Mahalunge, Daund – Nandur, Wadgaon, Kashimbe, Gonvadi, Khorvad, Sonwadi, Malthan, Bavda, Ganeshvasti, Bhandgaon Hatwalan, Hingneberdi and Shirapur, Indapur – Nira Narsinghpur, Maval – Bhavadi, Pulgaon, Sangvi Sandus, Lonavla, Kamshet and Wadgaon Maval; It also includes Dehu and Alandi.
