Pune, November 18, 2015: Premier wellness brand, VLCC, today, launched its newest and sixth wellness centre in Pune, at Koregaon Park, that will offer the entire bouquet of beauty, wellness and preventive healthcare services under one roof to help Pune-ites increase their wellness quotient. Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis, wife of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, formally inaugurated the state-of-the-art VLCC Koregaon Park outlet at a glittering ceremony this afternoon. VLCC Founder, Mrs. Vandana Luthra was also present on the occasion.

Explaining the rationale behind setting up a facility at Koregaon Park, VLCC Founder Mrs. Vandana Luthra said: At VLCC we believe in offering solutions that are personalised to suit the needs and lifestyle of our clients. Our Koregaon Park centre is equipped with new generation, advanced appliances that are FDA and CE approved. We aim to offer the best technology coupled with an experience of 25 years in the wellness industry.

“We are hopeful that the unmatched standards in fitness and beauty services that will be offered by us, in keeping with the VLCC Group’s offerings across the 11 countries in Asia and Africa where it operates wellness facilities, would benefit all those who are seeking high quality and efficacious solutions to look good and feel great,” Mrs. Luthra added.

Mrs Luthra also announced the formal launch of its public awareness campaign, Stand Up India, in a build-up to Anti-Obesity Day, that VLCC has been observing on November 26. Stand Up India seeks to make people aware of the pitfalls of prolonged sitting, urging them to be more active. People who sit for 6-7 hours every day are at an increased risk of diabetes, heart disease, cancer and shorter life spans as well as becoming overweight, even if they exercise, say studies. A report published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in January 2015 finds that long hours of sitting increases an individual’s risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer. This risk can be cut down by standing for at least one-fourth of the day, observes a research  by the American Cancer Society in collaboration with The Cooper Institute, the University of Texas and the University of Georgia.

Standing for 3 hours a day in a year is equivalent to running 10 marathons a year (based on a research paper by The BBC and the University of Chester).  It is supported by leading doctors Dr. Naresh Trehan, leading heart surgeon and Chairman Medanta The Medicity, Dr Pradeep Chowbey,Leading Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. O.P.Yadava, CEO & Chief Cardiac Surgeon, National Heart Institute and Dr. Ritu and Dr Harsh Mahajan, Directors of Mahajan Imaging, to name a few.

Equipped with some of the latest US-FDA and European-CE standard compliant appliances, the cutting-edge VLCC Koregaon Park facility seamlessly marries innovative, scientific weight management programs with revolutionary skin, dermal cosmetology and hair care treatments as well as regular beauty services.

The unique DNA-Skin™ program offered at the VLCC’s Koregaon Park outlet represents the next frontier in skincare wherein relevant information from an individual’s genetic profile is analyzed to personalize a skincare regime, beauty therapies as well as a recommended diet plan, to achieve healthy, glowing skin. The service provides a comprehensive view of an individual’s skin requirements by studying various parameters such as sun damage, pigmentation and the like, that determine collagen synthesis which plays an important role in achieving gorgeous skin.

“DNA-Skin™ will mark a paradigm shift in skincare by basing an individual’s regime on his/her genetic blueprint so as to provide the most effective results. This service is highly scientific and will be in line with our philosophy of providing preventive wellness solutions to our customers,” Mrs. Luthra said.

DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) is the molecule that determines and controls biological functioning. The human DNA sequence is 99.9% identical across all human beings. The 0.1% variation in the sequence of human DNA is one of the major reasons of the variability that is observed in the physical traits and biological functioning of humans across the world. DNA controls the look, feel and health of skin by up to 70 per cent (the rest is determined by the environment). The test identifies key variations that could be responsible for the loss of collagen even before the signs become visible. DNA matched skincare products and therapies are considered to show superior results.

In the arena of aesthetic facial treatments, the VLCC Koregaon Park Center offers two highly sophisticated services – Cellular Matrix™ and Gold Thread lift. While Cellular Matrix™ is an advanced version of the ‘Vampire Facelift’ which has taken the West by storm, Gold Thread lift is a form of thread lift surgery which firms up sagging facial skin using real gold threads. Both are minimally invasive procedures that will transform the way people look, that too, without any surgery. VLCC is the first wellness chain in India to offer these treatments.

Cellular Matrix™ uses an individual’s own blood plasma to restore the skin’s elasticity, providing a significant anti-aging effect. The procedure uses a unique combination of Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Hyaluronic Acid (HA) technologies to ensure radiant, younger looking skin. It does not involve any surgery and minimizes the risks of rejection or allergic reactions.

Gold Thread lift uses 24-karat gold threads, which tighten and rejuvenate the face, giving it a fresh and appealing look. The procedure uses a unique implantation technique whereby micro-fine gold coated PDO threads are inserted into the skin with a needle. An invisible gold web is weaved to hold the facial tissues in place and prevent sagging of the skin or wrinkle formation. Gold has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities, and does not oxidize inside the body or get rejected by the immune system.
