30 CRPF Jawans martyred, PM Modi says ‘sacrifices shall not go in vain’

Srinagar: In Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday afternoon, a terrorist from Jaish-e-Mohammed hit the bus of CRPF jawans with explosives-laden vehicle, in which at least 30 jawans have been martyred till now, seven others are injured. The police have identified the terrorist as Adil Ahmed of Pulwama’s Kakapora. He had joined Jaish-e-Mohammed in 2018.

About 2500 jawans of 54 Battalion of CRPF were moving a convoy of vehicles, when one of the bus was targeted. This is said to be the deadliest terror attack in the valley since 2004.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Attack on CRPF personnel in Pulwama is despicable. I strongly condemn this dastardly attack. The sacrifices of our brave security personnel shall not go in vain. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of the brave martyrs. May the injured recover quickly. Spoke to Home Minister Rajnath Singh Ji and other top officials regarding the situation in the wake of the attack in Pulwama.”
