34 Industry Complaints Reviewed at First Meeting of Pune Grievance Cell
Pune, 3rd September 2026: To speed up the resolution of administrative and regulatory issues faced by businesses, the Pune district administration has set up an Industry Grievance Redressal Cell and a MAITRI Cell at the District Collectorate.
The initiative is aimed at providing entrepreneurs with a single point of coordination for issues involving various government departments, including pending permissions, infrastructure-related concerns and other administrative matters. The first meeting of the grievance mechanism was held under the chairmanship of Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi on Wednesday.
Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam and officials from the Industries Department, Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Labour, Energy, State Excise, Legal Metrology, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, Irrigation and Tourism departments attended the meeting.
A total of 134 pending complaints and issues raised by entrepreneurs were reviewed department-wise. These included one complaint related to the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, two concerning the Industries Directorate, three related to the Energy Department, six with the State Excise Department, 13 concerning Legal Metrology and 109 related to the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation.
The complaints will be categorised and forwarded to the concerned departments for necessary action. The district administration will monitor the progress of each case and periodically review pending matters, with departments being asked to ensure that action is taken within stipulated timelines.
The MAITRI Cell has been established on the lines of the state government’s Maharashtra Industry, Trade and Investment Facilitation initiative. It will coordinate with different departments so that entrepreneurs do not have to repeatedly approach multiple government offices for services, permissions or resolution of pending matters.
Complaints received from entrepreneurs will be recorded and forwarded to the concerned departments, while the MAITRI Cell will track the status of each case, action taken and further steps required. Meetings of the cell will be held every fortnight to review the progress of cases.
The district administration will also hold a special meeting with entrepreneurs on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Representatives of industrial associations and officials from the departments concerned with specific complaints will attend these meetings.
Entrepreneurs and industrial associations can submit details of their grievances or pending matters to the Collectorate in advance. The complaints will be classified department-wise and subsequently reviewed in the presence of the concerned entrepreneurs or representatives of industrial associations, following which necessary directions will be issued to the departments concerned.
The new mechanism is intended to provide a “single point coordination and facilitation” system at the district level, enabling closer coordination between industries, industrial associations, the district administration and government departments.
The objective is to make government services more accessible to businesses, ensure timely disposal of pending cases and create a more transparent, responsive and industry-friendly administrative system.
Dudi appealed to industrial associations in the district to inform their members about the facility and encourage them to submit their grievances through the mechanism. He said the grievance cell and MAITRI Cell should be actively used to promote industrial development and improve the ease of doing business in Pune district.
