Bengaluru, January 14, 2021: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on his tour of Karnataka, said, “The valour of our army personnel is unprecedented. We will not let India’s honour fall in any way… There is a saying in English that ‘Once a soldier, always a soldier’. This ‘Veteran’s Day’ reminds us of the sacrifices you and your family have made during your service to the country… Now, the government has ordered HAL to manufacture 83 Tejas aircraft to boost the defence sector in the country. This decision will create about 50000 new jobs in the country.”

Speaking at an event on Ex-Servicemen Day, he said, “It is always my endeavour to do something for the ex-servicemen of the country. Although no cost can be levied for the services of our people; the government always endeavours to do as much as possible to honour and care for you and your family.”

PM Modi implemented the One Rank One Pension Scheme

Rajnath Singh said that PM Modi implemented the One Rank One Pension Scheme for the Indian Army and soldiers during his first term. The formation of CDS was announced at Lal Qila last year. This decision has resulted in the coordination between the security forces.

Among ex-servicemen, he said, “We will try our level best to reduce the burden of your responsibilities. During our government, some grants have been given such as education of children and marriage grants, medical grants, etc. There are some steps taken in the same direction.”
