56 pedestrians die every day in road accident!

New Delhi – There has been shocking statistics of 56 pedestrians being killed every day in road accidents across the country. According to this statistics, there has been an accidental death of 20,457 pedestrians crossing the road in 2017.

According to the data provided by the central government, the number of pedestrians who died in road accidents during the three years between 2014 and 2017 has increased by 66%. In 2014, 12,330 pedestrians died due to accidental deaths and in 2017 this number has gone up to 20,000. Of these, 3507 deaths have been reported in Tamil Nadu while Maharashtra is second in this list. In Maharashtra state last year, 1831 deaths occurred when the pedestrians were hit by vehicles while crossing the roads. Like the pedestrians, the number of cyclists and two-wheeler riders death is also serious. In 2017, there were 10 cyclists and 133 bike drivers died per day .
