60 Foreign Liquor Bottles Found in Unclaimed Bags on Andaman Express
Nagpur, 9th September 2026: Sixty bottles of foreign liquor worth approximately ₹37,920 were found in three unclaimed cloth bags aboard the 16032 Andaman Express near Katol during a joint checking operation by the Dog Squad and Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB), Nagpur.
Head Constable Neeraj and Constable Vipin Satpute of the Dog Squad, along with Constable Sachin of CIB, were checking the Nagpur–Betul route with sniffer dog Prince when the team inspected Coach S-4 of the train at around 8 am near Katol.
The dog repeatedly indicated three bags kept beneath Seats 17 to 19. Nearby passengers were questioned, but none claimed the bags. They were taken to the RPF Police Station, Nagpur, after the train reached the station.
The bags were opened by Assistant Sub-Inspector Vithoba Marskolhe under CCTV surveillance, leading to the seizure of the liquor. After completing the necessary documentation, the seized bottles were handed over to Devanand Taroke of the Nagpur Excise Department for further legal action.
A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Prohibition Act.
