76 Passengers Evacuated Safely After Aircraft Windshield Breaks Before Landing

Chennai, 11th October 2025: A potentially serious incident was averted when the windshield of a passenger aircraft cracked just before landing, thanks to the alertness of the pilot. The plane, carrying 76 passengers, had taken off from Madurai Airport on Saturday.

According to officials, the pilot noticed the cracked front windshield while preparing to land and immediately informed the air traffic controllers (ATC). Acting swiftly, the ATC provided guidance, ensuring the aircraft touched down safely without incident. The plane belongs to a private airline.

All passengers were safely evacuated after landing, and the damaged windshield was replaced. However, the exact cause of the windshield breakage is still under investigation.

The aircraft was scheduled to return to Madurai later the same day, but the return flight was cancelled following the incident. Authorities have confirmed that no injuries occurred, and safety protocols were followed throughout the emergency.
