Pune: Meritorious Students To Get PMC Scholarships Before The Elections
Pune, 3rd March 2022: It has been six months since the results of class 10th and 12th were declared but due to the delay in the admission of this year’s engineering and medical degree, the meritorious students have not yet received the scholarship from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
16,000 applications have been received for this scheme. After scrutinizing the applications, before the election code of conduct and before 31st March, PMC is trying to deposit this amount directly in the bank account of the students.
PMC awards Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad scholarship for students of class 10th and Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Arthasahayya Yojana scholarship to class 12th students. The students in the 10th and 12th classes should have more than 80% marks in open group and students in municipal schools, backward class students and students with 40% disability should get more than 65% marks in their board exams to be eligible for the scholarships.
“A total of 15,974 applications have been received for both Maulana Abdul Kalam and Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe scholarship schemes. The applications are being scrutinized and 60 percent scrutiny has been completed so far. Efforts are being made to deposit the scholarship amount directly in the bank account of the eligible students before March 31”, said Dnyaneshwar Molak, Additional Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation.
