Kondhwa, 18th April 2023: Citizens on the Katraj-Kondhwa road leading to Ideal Park Society from Lane No 12 have been facing issues due to ongoing work that has been continuing for the last two years. As a result of incomplete work, citizens are compelled to take a detour via Katraj-Kondhwa road.

Currently, the excavation work has been carried out on this road, which has caused blockage of the road for the past 15 days, with no sign of repair. The excavation work was initially started for rainwater lines and drainage, and subsequently, the road repair work was of poor quality, leading to the deteriorating condition of the road over time.

This road is frequently used by residents of several societies such as Hemi Park, Pawan Park, Akshara Residency, Yashodhan Society, Flower Residency, Ideal Park, etc., where an estimated 2,000-2,500 people live.

During the rainy season, water from the Katraj-Kondhwa road, Shivshambhonagar, and Swami Samarth Nagar area flows downhill and enters the societies through these roads. Despite repeated complaints, the municipal authorities have not taken any action to repair the road.
The road has several collapsed chambers and big potholes, making it difficult for commuters to drive or even walk. Junior Engineer of the Drainage Department, Shashikant Nivdekar, stated that the work was hampered due to two consecutive days of unseasonal rain. However, he confirmed that excavation work had been carried out to repair the drainage line leakage, and the road would be repaired in two days, once the work is completed.
