Pune Municipal Corporation Opens Recruitment for Classes 1-3 Vacancies, Receives Over 10,000 Applications For 320 Posts
Pune, 1st June 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has commenced the recruitment process to fill vacancies in classes one to three. A staggering 10,171 applications have been received for the available 320 seats. The online examination for these positions is scheduled to take place on June 22 and July 5. To ensure a smooth process, the municipal administration has announced that admit cards will be issued to candidates seven days prior to the examination.
Last year, the Pune Municipal Corporation filled 448 vacancies. Following the conclusion of that process, the second phase of recruitment has now begun for 320 positions. Applications were invited between March 6 and April 30, with a focus on vacancies within the Health Department and Fire Department.
The examination for various positions, including X-Ray Specialist, Medical Officer, Deputy Director (Animal Museum), Junior Engineer (Electrical), and Fire Brigade, will be held on June 22. On the other hand, the examination for Health Inspector, Vehicle Inspector, Veterinary Medical Officer and Senior Health Inspector positions is scheduled for June 2.
These online exams will be conducted in three sessions. Candidates will receive their user ID and password via SMS or email at least seven days before the examination. This will enable them to download their admit cards, as stated by Sachin Ithape, Deputy Commissioner of the General Administration Department.
Among the applications received by the Municipal Corporation, the highest competition is observed for the position of pharmaceutical manufacturer, with 3,032 applications received for 15 available posts. Additionally, 3,555 applications were submitted for 200 firefighter positions, while 1,677 applications were received for 10 Junior Engineer (Electrical) posts. Furthermore, 216 candidates have applied for three Vehicle Inspector positions.
