Kannada Sangha, Pune gets ‘Linguistic Minority Institution’ status
Pune, 1 March : City’s renowned educational group ‘Kannada Sangha, Pune’ was granted with a certificate of ‘Linguistic Minority Institution’ by the Minority Development Department – State Government of Maharashtra recently. Widely known as ‘Kaveri Group of Institutes’, Kannda Sangha, Pune has been running Schools and Colleges in English as well as Kannada mediums with commendable academic record every year. After this Linguistic Minority Certification, Kannada Sangha and all its units are now exempted from the provisions of Right to Education (RTE) Act.
As per the certificate, the linguistic minority status is applicable to all the constitutes of Kaveri Group which includes Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School (Pre-primary) located at Ganesh Nagar, Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School (Primary) located at Erandwane, Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School located at Aundh and Kaveri International School located at Lohegoan (ICSE Syllabus) which is the latest venture of the group.
Speaking on this occasion, Kushal Hegde, President of Kannada Sangha expressed his gratification over this recent development. All the institutes under Kaveri Group are run without any government aid, he added. The trustees of Kannda Sangha are veterans from their respective fields and have been contributing for the development of these institutes selflessly. The vital objective of this group has always been the holistic development of children which includes their intellectual, emotional, spiritual, creative and physical progress.
