Khandala: One Person Dead And Two Others Injured In Fatal Accident On Mumbai-Pune Highway, Pickup Truck Trapped Under Container
Lonavala, 24th June 2023: Tragedy struck on the Mumbai-Pune National Highway at Anda Point in the Khandala Ghat when a speeding container collided with two pickup tempos, resulting in a devastating accident.
The collision caused the container to overturn onto one of the pickup tempos, instantly claiming the life of its driver and leaving two others injured. Shockingly, one of the injured victims is a schoolboy. The incident occurred early this morning, on the 24th of June.
According to preliminary reports, the container was traveling at a high speed from Lonavala towards Mumbai. However, as the driver negotiated the slope and curve at Anda Point, he lost control of the vehicle, leading to a collision with two pickup tempos before toppling over. Tragically, one of the pickup trucks ended up trapped beneath the container.

As a result, the pickup driver succumbed to the accident, unable to escape the wreckage. However, the two injured individuals were promptly rescued by the efficient response teams of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation and a dedicated social organization in Khopoli that aids accident victims. The injured victims were swiftly transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Authorities, including the Borghat Police, Khopoli Police, and IRB, swiftly responded to the accident upon receiving the information. Presently, efforts are underway to extricate the trapped driver and remove the pickup vehicle from beneath the container with the assistance of a crane in the Khandala area.
